Building my personal website was my first hands-on experience with WordPress. I created it on WordPress.com using the WPCredits coupon, registered my domain zehanwu.blog, and chose the Twenty Twenty-Five theme, which let me work directly with the Site Editor and Gutenberg.
I learned the difference between posts and pages, how to edit templates like the footer, and how to enable comments. My main challenges were removing the theme’s sample links and understanding why the site showed “coming soon” until I launched it.
My next step is to start contributing translations with the Polyglots team and document my progress here.
